Syfy orders its first original late-night series: Animated Alien News Desk starring Will Forte and Heidi Gardner

SNL boss Lorne Michaels is producing what will mark Syfy's first original late-night program, with current Saturday Night Live cast member Gardner teaming with SNL alum Forte playing alien TV news anchors. Former SNL head writer Dennis McNicholas will serve as showrunner on the comedy that, according to Deadline, "is set in an extra-terrestrial newsroom that covers up-to-the-minute news and commentary about the universe’s most baffling species – the inscrutable Humans of Planet Earth. Hosted by animated is the universe’s real news – give or take a few intergalactic translation errors."
