TV Academy announces a new vetting process for Emmy voters

Starting next year, the Television Academy will determine whether members are active enough in the industry to continue voting for the Emmys. The new vetting process won't, however, disallow inactive members who were qualified as active members for 16 years of their career. The TV Academy says the vetting process will “uphold the caliber of the Emmy Awards competition and the vibrancy of its membership.”
