The longest-running show in TV history debuted on November 6, 1947, yet moderator Chuck Todd doesn’t plan to dwell on the anniversary on Sunday’s show. “Pre-Trump, this show might have felt more like a special,” says Todd. “We rarely feel comfortable pre-taping an interview even the night before a Sunday morning show. The president gets up in the morning and starts tweeting, the world reacts. It can be a political earthquake sometimes.”
