After two failed attempts to get a Supernatural spinoff off the ground, The CW president Mark Pedowitz says he may have come to the realization that the long-running series is only about Jared Padalecki and Jensen Ackles. "And there may not be a franchise beyond that,” he said at TV press tour. However, he added, “if there’s a great idea that (the producers) want to go forward with, we’re open to listening. It is a great franchise." Both 2014's Supernatural: Bloodlines and this year's Wayward Sisters never made it past the pilot stage. “We were very happy with the women in the Wayward Sisters spinoff,” Pedowitz said. “We had a certain number of slots this year. So it just didn’t get there.”
