The French-born Australian actress will take over the Princess Diana role from Emma Corrin, who played the late princess of Wales in Seasons 3 and 4, for the Netflix drama's final two seasons. Debicki joins the previously cast Imelda Staunton, who’s playing Queen Elizabeth II, and Jonathan Pryce, who's taking over the Prince Philip role. “Princess Diana’s spirit, her words and her actions live in the hearts of so many," Debicki said in a statement tweeted out by The Crown's Twitter account. "It is my true privilege and honour to be joining this masterful series, which has had me absolutely hooked from episode one,” Debicki said in the Twitter announcement posted on Sunday afternoon. Debicki is about 6-foot-3, which is 5 inches taller than Princess Diana. Known for roles on The Night Manager, Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2 and the upcoming Tenet, Debicki is no stranger to American TV, having appeared on The View and, earlier this year, Late Night with Seth Meyers.
