Bambadjan Bamba, who revealed to the Los Angeles Times how he arrived in the United States as a child from war-torn Côte d’Ivoire, says he’s encountered barriers in attempting to apply for legal status. The Good Place creator Michael Schur says of Bamba: “I didn't know he was technically undocumented until today, and finding out only makes him more impressive to me — that he accomplished so much while living under that cloud of uncertainty.”
