Jay Ward, who co-created The Adventures of Rocky and Bullwinkle and Friends, erected the 15-foot statue of Rocket J. (“Rocky”) Squirrel and Bullwinkle J. Moose in front of his Jay Ward Productions in 1961. In 2013, it was taken down and later moved to the Paley Center for Media. On Monday night, the West Hollywood City Council voted to bring the statue back to the Sunset Strip, but at a different location. Among those in attendance lobbying for the statue restoration were Rocky voice Tara Strong, the granddaughter of Jay Ward and Brad Norman, the voice of Bullwinkle in the new Amazon series The Adventures of Rocky & Bullwinkle.
