The ship built for the AMC series was mounted on a gimbal, and the sets were divided in two (the upper deck and lower deck) to create uncomfortable spaces for the actors and audience. “I’ve never worked on a show that had this intricate of a puzzle," says production designer Jonathan McKinstry. "Every day, as new questions came up, the team we put together was phenomenal in figuring out those questions.”
