Tom Welling to reprise Smallville role in Arrowverse's "Crisis on Infinite Earths" crossover

Welling has agreed to return as Clark Kent which he played for 10 seasons on The WB and The CW from 2001 to 2011, for the Arrowverse crossover. Welling won't be the only Clark Kent on "Crisis on Infinite Earths." The Arrowverse crossover also features Tyler Hoechlin's Superman and Brandon Routh, star of Superman Returns, who will also return as Superman. “For eight years, Arrow has stood on the shoulders of Smallville. Simply put, there would be no Arrow, and no Arrowverse, without it,” crossover executive producer Marc Guggenheim said in a statement. “So when we first started talking about 'Crisis on Infinite Earths,' our first, second and third priorities were getting Tom to reprise his iconic role as Clark Kent. To say that we’re thrilled would be a Superman-sized understatement.”
