The Brooklyn-set comedy that Jordan Peele co-created with John Carcieri won't return for a fifth season after wrapping up Season 4 last December. The news comes as TBS and TNT are getting out of scripted programming as part of the newly merged Warner Bros. Discovery's cost-cutting. However, TVLine reports the decision to not renew The Last O.G. was made "months ago," long before Tuesday's news of the scripted cutbacks. Despite The Last O.G.'s viewership waning over its four seasons -- with Season 4 viewership down 30% from Season 3 -- it was still a Top 10 cable comedy. As The Hollywood Reporter notes, The Last O.G. "burned through a new showrunner every season" with co-creator John Carcieri leading Season 1, followed by Saladin Patterson helming Season 2, Keenan Ivory Wayans for Season 3 and Owen Smith for Season 4.
