Julia Louis-Dreyfus' HBO political comedy returns for its seventh and final season Sunday, March 31. The final season will consist of seven episodes, down from Season 6's 10. Showrunner David Mandel explained at the TV press tour why there's only seven episodes, saying there are "more than 10 episodes worth of material jammed into them.” Louis-Dreyfus also weighed in on the final episodes: “I’m not going to say that Selina evolves, except to say she’s truer to herself — as true to herself as she could possibly be by the time the season ends. I’ll leave it to you to decide whether or not that’s a good thing,” Louis-Dreyfus said. “Where our show ends up, ultimately, is a place I’m happy about, and I think it will surprise viewers, too.”
