Wendy Williams fainting on live TV was terrifying to watch

Since Williams’ talk show airs live on the East Coast, the clip of her fainting while dressed as the Statue of Liberty “flew around Twitter as startled viewers tried to figure out what happened,” says Emily Yahr. After a commercial break, Williams was back on air. “That was not a stunt,” she told her audience. “I was overheated in my costume, I did pass out. But you know what? I’m a champ, and I’m back.” Paramedics were later spotted arriving at the studio. Williams' spokesperson later released a statement saying: “She is dehydrated and is on her way home for a good day and nite of sleep. She has been examined by medical professionals and is well.”
