Whoopi Goldberg surprises The View with a brief return

Goldberg has been absent from the ABC daytime talk show since Feb. 5 while battling pneumonia in both lungs that became septic. “This is my first foray out,” Goldberg said during this morning's surprise visit. “I’m not there yet, I know that. The only way it’s going to get better is if I began, so this is my beginning.” Goldberg added that she plans to return over the “next week and a half.”
