Hugh Grant has joined the cast of The Palace.

The HBO miniseries, helmed by Succession writer and executive producer Will Tracy, is set to star Kate Winslet, Matthias Schoenaerts, and Andrea Riseborough. Grant will appear in a guest capacity, and details for his character are currently being kept quiet.

The Palace, which will also be showrun by Tracy, tells "the story of one year within the walls of the palace of an authoritarian regime as it begins to unravel".  Stephen Frears (A Very English Scandal) will direct and executive produce, with Winslet also executive producing. The miniseries marks a return to HBO for Grant following David E. Kelley drama The Undoing in 2020, which earned him an Emmy nomination.

Winslet's role in The Palace will be her fourth HBO miniseries; in 2011, she took home an Emmy for her role in Mildred Pierce, and won in the same category in 2021 for Mare of Easttown. She is also currently set to star in The Trust, an adaptation of Hernan Diaz's novel.

A release date for The Palace has not been announced yet.
