Kate Bush loves that her 1985 hit "Running Up That Hill (A Deal With God)" is now topping the charts over 35 years later, all because of Stranger Things.
The song is heavily featured in Season 4 of the Netflix show, as Max Mayfield (Sadie Sink) must play the song on repeat to save herself from being taken into the Upside Down and killed by this season's newest monster, Vecna.
"You might've heard that the first part of the fantastic, gripping new series of Stranger Things has recently been released on Netflix," Bush wrote in a statement on her website. "It features the song, 'Running Up That Hill' which is being given a whole new lease of life by the young fans who love the show — I love it too!"
Bush added, "Because of this, 'Running Up That Hill' is charting around the world and has entered the UK chart at No. 8. It's all really exciting! Thanks very much to everyone who has supported the song. I wait with bated breath for the rest of the series in July."
Between May 26-30, Spotify streams for "Running Up That Hill" went up by 9,900% in the US, with millions of daily streams, according to Billboard. At the time of the song's release in 1985, "Running Up That Hill" reached the No. 30 spot, becoming the highest-charting Hot 100 single of Bush's career.
Stranger Things is currently streaming on Netflix. Season 4, Volume 2 premieres on July 1.
