Netflix has revealed the cast for its action-packed, darkly comedic family soap from Brad Falchuk and Byron Yu.
Hot on the heels of Everything Everywhere All At Once, Yeoh will star as matriarch Eileen “Mama” Sun, who has built a new life for herself and her younger son Bruce in Los Angeles far from her past in Taiwan. The Brothers Sun revolves around her elder son, Taipei gangster Charles Sun, "who is settled into his life as a ruthless killer. But when his father is shot by a mysterious assassin, Charles must go to L.A. to protect his mother and utterly unaware younger brother Bruce."
Justin Chien has been tapped to play Charles Sun. Sam Song Li will play Bruce Sun, Charles' younger brother, "who came to the U.S. as a kid with little memory of Taipei and no idea of his family’s past. Also joining the cast are Highdee Kuan, Joon Lee, plus Alice Hewkin, Jon Xue Zhang, Jenny Yang and Rodney To in recurring roles.
The Brothers Sun is Yeoh's second TV series that she's joined this year following Disney+'s American Born Chinese.
A release date for The Brothers Sun has not yet been announced.
