Oscar and Emmy-nominated actress Uma Thurman is the latest addition to the cast of Amazon Prime Video's Red, White, & Royal Blue, a romantic comedy based on the bestselling Casey McQuiston novel.
Thurman will play U.S. President Ellen Claremont, the mother of the film's handsome and charming main character, Alex Claremont-Diaz. The film focuses on Alex (Taylor Zakhar Perez) as he navigates his new life as the president's son and America's version of royalty. Although Alex seemingly has it all, he secretly has a long-running feud with Prince Henry (Nicholas Galitzine) that negatively impacts U.S. and British relations. To mitigate the issue, the pair are forced into a fake truce that transforms into something neither saw coming — romance.
“I am overjoyed that Uma will be joining us to play President Claremont,” said writer and director Matthew López. “Her intelligence, warmth, and humor are a perfect match for Casey’s iconic character. I cannot wait to be on our Oval Office set with her.”
Red, White, & Royal Blue is currently in production.
