Westfield Residents Want The Watcher Fans to Stop Watching The Watcher House

657 Boulevard is still being watched - but this time, by fans of Netflix series The Watcher. 

Since Ryan Murphy's horror series premiered on October 13, fans have been flocking to the home that inspired the series in Westfield, New Jersey, much to the annoyance of residents. According to NJ.com, fans have driven to the town with the hopes of catching a glimpse of the house, prompting police to put up yellow caution tape and remain outside 657 Boulevard.

"I just thought I would come because of how interesting the story was," said one fan who visited. "The house is nice though. It’s not creepy or anything." 

Residents are so fed up with the cars piling up on Boulevard that they've reportedly taken to verbally harassing the visitors, yelling at them to "go home". One resident expressed concerns "for the family living there now and their neighbors".

"I cannot imagine how long it will be before people lose interest so the neighborhood can go back to normal, nor can I imagine how much mail the poor current owners will receive from crackpots all over the world," she said. "I think the show doesn’t do wonders for placing our little, but amazing town in a negative light," said another local. 

Inspired by the unsettling case of the Broaddus family and the person who "watched" them, The Watcher is created by Ryan Murphy and features a star-studded ensemble including Naomi Watts, Bobby Cannavale, and Jennifer Coolidge. 

The Watcher is streaming on Netflix.
