Zach Shallcross may not have been lucky in love on The Bachelorette, but he'll have a second chance as ABC's 27th Bachelor.
Host Jesse Palmer announced Shallcross as ABC's next leading man during the live finale of The Bachelorette last night, after a dramatic conclusion to his relationship with Rachel Recchia towards the end of the season.
The 26-year-old, whose uncle is actor Patrick Warburton, is described as an "old-fashioned romantic" who aspires to his parents' 30-year marriage. "I think what people maybe didn't see on The Bachelorette, but what they can expect [to], is I love to have a good time," Shallcross told People. "I'm actually pretty fun, goofy guy. I like to think I am a romantic, but it's not all serious with me. I like to have a good time."
In a sneak peek for the upcoming season shown during The Bachelorette finale, Shallcross was surprised with five women who will compete for his heart. Viewers voted on Twitter for the "America's First Impression" rose, which went to Brianna, 24. She will be safe from elimination during the first week of Shallcross' season.
"I'm more excited than anything," said Shallcross "I just want to start already."
The Bachelor Season 27 premieres on ABC in January 2023.
