Zooey Deschanel to Return to TV in Physical Season 3

Zooey Deschanel is making her return to the small screen in Apple TV+ dramedy Physical. 

The actress, perhaps best known for playing Jessica Day for all of New Girl's seven seasons, will join the cast of the Rose Byrne series for Season 3. Deschanel will play Kelly, a network sitcom actress who decides to move into the up-and-coming fitness industry.

Set in 1980s San Diego, Physical follows Sheila Rubin (Byrne), a loyal housewife secretly suffering as she supports her husband (Rory Scovel) in his bid for state assembly. When she discovers the world of aerobics brings her some solace, her life begins to change - but this move is not without its own problems. 

Physical is helmed by Annie Weisman (About a Boy, Desperate Housewives) and also stars Dierdre Friel, Della Saba, Lou Taylor Pucci, Paul Sparks, Ashley Liao and Geoffrey Arend.
