Amazon Drops Trailer for Barry Jenkins' The Underground Railroad

In this new trailer for The Underground Railroad, Barry Jenkins' limited-series adaptation of the Colson Whitehead novel that imagines the titular escape route for slaves as a literal subterranean train system, we see Cora (Thuso Mbedu) on her journey away from the endless pain and suffering of that life. Yet the architects of that existence are on her trail to try and force her back to it, in the form of Ridgeway (Joel Edgerton), the slavemaster who ironically speaks of how her anger might lead her into "the savagery man is capable of when he believes his cause to be just." 

The Underground Railroad premieres May 14 on Amazon.
