It was a family affair on American Idol Sunday night as Season 4 finalist Nadia Turner watched her 21-year-old daughter Zaréh audition for the legendary singing competition. In a fun moment, host Ryan Seacrest helped Zaréh lure Turner, who thought they were headed to a mother-daughter spa day, to the set, where he took off her blindfold and uttered the familiar refrain, "This is American Idol."
In the early aughts, Turner wowed the American Idol judges with her soulful pipes. She made a name for herself in the early rounds before advancing to the Final Eight, when she was eliminated. Carrie Underwood went on to win Idol Season 4, with Bo Bice nabbing the runner-up spot.
Wearing the same gold tank that her mother wore for her 2005 audition, Zaréh nailed "Bust Your Windows" by Jazmine Sullivan. 17 years later, the tank once again worked its magic: the Los Angeles-based stylist won a golden ticket to the Hollywood round, earning praise from all three judges.
American Idol airs Sundays and Mondays at 8:00 PM ET on ABC.
