Christopher Plummer, who passed away today at age 91, may be best remembered for his film and theater work, but he also won a Primetime Emmy Award for his role in NBC's 1976 miniseries The Moneychangers, based on the Arthur Hailey novel about drama and intrigue in the world of big banks, in which he starred as Roscoe Hayward alongside such luminaries as Kirk Douglas, Joan Collins, and Lorne Greene.
In the above clip, we see Mr. Hayward being slowly inducted into the highfalutin society of mega-wealth by Mr. Quartermain (Greene) and his objectifying of women and casual chat about how the super-rich should take over the country in their own interest to stave off socialism. If that sounds like a story that could be relevant today, note that Quartermain's firm is called "Q Investments."
