David Byrne and Spike Lee Should Market an Energy Drink

Forget Red Bull. I want a drink that captures the creative energy and enthusiasm that David Byrne and Spike Lee share in this just-released featurette for David Byrne's American Utopia.

Interviewing each other, the two New York indie icons discuss their shared roots, mutual admiration, and how they came to collaborate on HBO's filmed version of Byrne's show. As Lee exclaims, they're "a match made in heaven!"

Filmed in January during the show's run at Broadway’s Hudson Theatre, American Utopia sees Byrne joined on stage by an ensemble of 11 musicians, singers, and dancers from around the globe as they perform songs from his prodigious catalogue.
