The iconoclast filmmaker who brought us Grizzly Man is back with a new documentary that seems perfectly suited to his nihilist tendencies.
Directed in collaboration with volcanologist Clive Oppenheimer, Fireball: Visitors From Darker Worlds explores what happens after meteorites crash into the earth.
"Throughout history," Herzog's stentorian voice intones over the trailer, "meteorites have captivated human imagination. Each one of these stones from darker worlds has its own story, and the bigger ones have changed entire landscapes, but they also have left a deep impact on cultures. Our voyage took us to wherever large fireballs had plunged down to earth."
Fireball: Visitors From Darker Worlds premieres November 13 on Apple TV+.
