Apparently we're not the only ones obsessed with the Netflix reality series Bling Empire. In the above promo clip for the show, comic Joel Kim Booster (Sunnyside, Shrill) explains why he should be on the show's second season.
"For starters, I would bring a much-needed desperation to the show," Booster says. "I mean, you've got people on this show crying because they don't know who their real dad is. Meanwhile, I would be crying because I didn't get invited to an orgy in Puerto Vallarta. I feel like these Asians have lost sight of what Asians are all about. I mean, I am nowhere near as wealthy as these people, but I am like a thousand times more judgmental, and if you really think about it, that is what it's all about."
Booster has more suspicions about the veracity of their Asian bona fides.
"Not to be a conspiracy nut here, but I'm pretty sure that Anna isn't even Asian," Booster suggests. "I think it's just plastic surgery that's made her look Asian, and yeah, that's crazy, but guess what? That's the kind of crazy sh*t I'd say if I was on the show. Yes, Kevin and I are both Koreans who were adopted by white people, so if something ever happens to Kevin, I can fill in his place and the racists who watch the show won't even notice the difference."
Bling Empire Season 1 is now streaming on Netflix.
