Thursday's Season 3 finale of Star Trek: Discovery saw big changes for the crew, and a new dynamic going into Season 4 as Michael Burnham (Sonequa Martin-Green) takes the captain's chair.
Captain Saru (Doug Jones) has stepped down from his position in order to help his fellow Kelpien Su'Kal adjust to his new life on Kaminar. So Burnham and the Discovery crew press on without him, and don the gray uniforms of the Federation as it stands in this new, unknown future.
Jones and showrunner Michelle Paradise have much to say about Saru's choices and the overarching themes of Season 3 in this featurette, while stars Blu del Barrio, Oyin Oladejo, Emily Coutts, and Wilson Cruz talk about that powerful moment where Burnham takes the chair, and pontificate on where she might lead the Discovery crew in the future.
Star Trek: Discovery is now streaming on CBS All Access.
