Paul Rudd might be People's Sexiest Man Alive, but things haven't always been so glamorous for the actor. In a Thursday appearance on Late Night with Seth Meyers, Rudd revealed that back when he struggling to make it in Hollywood, his financial situation was so dire that he "slept on towels" in his friend's kitchen. When the Ant-Man star finally made enough money to get an apartment in the same complex as his friend, he decided to furnish it at the neighborhood dumpster — a decision that ultimately proved horribly, horribly wrong.
"I didn't really have much furniture. And I found a mattress out by the dumpster," Rudd told Meyers. "And I thought, 'Sweet! Free mattress.'"
"So I just took it up to my room, and I slept on it. And then the next morning I woke up covered in red bumps," he continued. "How's that for Sexiest Man Alive?"
Late Night with Seth Meyers airs weeknights at 12:35 AM ET on NBC.
