From 1984 to 1988, Soleil Moon Frye was Punky Brewster, an irreverent little girl who was abandoned by her parents and taken in by her eventual foster dad, a cantankerous old photographer named Henry (George Gaynes) Warnimont, after he finds her squatting in one of the apartments in his building with her dog named Brandon.
In 1985, she voiced herself as a cartoon who was followed around by a magical floating bear named Glomer on It's Punky Brewster, but no one talks about that.
In 2021, she will be Punky Brewster, a professional photographer and a divorced mother of three who still likes wearing different colored shoes and who pays Henry's generosity forward by taking in a new homeless little girl. Oh, and her ex-husband (played by Freddie Prinze Jr.) is not entirely out of the picture.
The ten-episode revival series Punky Brewster premieres n Peacock February 25.
