In this just-released promo for CBS's reboot of The Equalizer, Queen Latifah promises "action, passion, and justice exaction," describing the appeal of the idea that "in a world that seems so unbalanced that you could get some justice for everyday people from someone who has the highest level of expertise."
"I think people need to understand the power of the black woman, and to see that weekly brings it home," Latifah says. "It just makes it more real."
"What an interesting idea to rethink this show with a woman — a powerful, interesting, funny, strong black woman," Lorraine Toussaint notes.
Tory Kittles agrees. "She is without a doubt one of the most versatile, prolific artists of our generation. She's a boss. She could do anything, and on top of that, she's one of the coolest people on the planet."
The Equalizer premieres Sunday, February 7, at 10:00 PM ET on CBS.
