In this trailer for the documentary Secrets of the Saqqara Tomb, we follow a team of archaeologists as they uncover fascinating artifiacts in a miraculously preserved and unlooted tomb over 4000 years old. It plays almost like a thriller at first, as if you're expecting a mummy attack, before turning triumphant around the one-minute mark.
The team is made up entirely of local Egyptians, and we thrill with them as they uncover secret passages, feline fur, and sarcophogi in the tomb of Wahtye, a high-ranking priest from the Fifth Dynasty.
Secrets of the Saqqara Tomb premieres October 28 on Netflix.
