Cloris Leachman passed away Tuesday at the age of 94, bringing an end to a legendary career in front of the camera that earned her an Oscar win for The Last Picture Show and nine Emmy Awards.
Almost any classic TV show you can name, she appeared on it. Lassie, Gunsmoke, Rawhide, The Donna Reed Show, The Twilight Zone, Alfred Hitchcock Presents, The Untouchables, Perry Mason, Dr. Kildare, Adam-12, Mannix, Cher, That Girl, The Love Boat, Wonder Woman, The Muppet Show, The Facts of Life, The Simpsons, The Nanny, Touched By an Angel, Malcolm in the Middle, Dancing with the Stars, The Office, Raising Hope, RuPaul's Drag Race, Girl Meets World, Bob's Burgers, and American Gods.
The list goes on and on, but she's arguably best remembered for her work on The Mary Tyler Moore Show, where she played Mary's college friend and landlord Phyllis Lindstrom, a role that earned her multiple Emmys and her own spin-off show, Phyllis. In the clasic clip above, we see her dueling with Betty White, aka the Happy Homemaker, who's out to become the Hussy Homewrecker by stealing her husband.
