In this featurette for the Apple TV+ series Servant, series creator M. Night Shyamalan breaks down the latest episode entitled "2:00," where we see the lengths Dorothy (Lauren Ambrose) will go to in order to get her child back. This includes holding Leanne (Nell Tiger Free) prisoner in her attic until she talks.
This is a part of Shyamalan's exploration of house and home, as the events of the series are confined to one location. "The attic has a symbolic respresentation, that it's the highest point in the house, and now Leanne is in the highest point in the house."
Since baby Jericho is actually dead and Dorothy has never psychologically accepted that, her husband Sean (Toby Kebbell) forms a bond with Leanne because they both know the truth. "It's a very interesting dynamic because there's kind of almost like liaisons, alliances that are being made in this episode... and you see that the stakes are extermely high for this family."
