Ronald Reagan has been deified in as the gold standard of what the GOP should aspire to emulate, but director Matt Tyrnauer's four-part documentary series The Reagans seems out to challenge that mythology.
Not only does this new trailer posit that Nancy Reagan's "presence over everything" made it possible for him to be elected in the first place, but that he was a "caricature out of American culture" that was the "perfect frontman" for a group of millionaires advocating for the rise of corporate power, and that "he wasn't just the Manchurian Candidate, they believed it."
The Reagans premieres Sunday, November 15 at 8:00 PM ET on Showtime.
