Nicolas Cage explains that while many of the big swear words are reactionary, the word "bitch" is more of an experience.

It's certainly had an experience of its own, having gone on a journey from being a female dog to being synonymous with "queen"... almost. There is still some semantic difference to be heeded, as explained in this clip.
