A long-running prestige series comes to an end, the Patriots play the Ravens, and all three of HBO's Sunday night shows are back with fresh episodes. Here's what's new and noteworthy this Sunday:
SERIES FINALE: In a season that has already been quite meta, the extramarital repercussions of The Affair echo throughout the show's finale, which takes place on the day Whitney (Julia Goldani Telles) is set to be married. 9:00 PM ET on Showtime
SPORTS: The New England Patriots square off against the Baltimore Ravens at M&T Bank Stadium in this week's Sunday Night Football matchup. 8:15 PM ET on NBC
NEW EPISODE: A biting letter warrants a harsh rebuke on Watchmen. Meanwhile, Laurie (Jean Smart) is transferred to Tulsa. 9:00 PM ET on HBO
NEW EPISODE: Eve (Kathryn Hahn) weighs the benefits of putting her fantasies aside in favor of a real life encounter, as Mrs. Fletcher steps away from her empty nest and out into the dating world, where the possibilities are endless. 10:30 PM ET on HBO
NEW EPISODE: Gavin (Matt Ross) faces a future in which Hooli must watch its bottom line on Silicon Valley. Meanwhile, six seasons in, and Richard (Thomas Middleditch) is still meeting with potential investors for Pied Piper. That might not be a good sign for the company, but it's in keeping with a show that our Aaron Barnhart says has never been better. 10:00 PM ET on HBO
LIVE EVENT: Becky G hosts the 2019 MTV European Music Awards, MTV Europe's version of the VMAs. Performers are set to include Green Day, Halsey, Ava Max, K-Pop powerhouse NCT 127, and last year's big winner, Dua Lipa. Liam Gallagher is also scheduled to be on hand to accept the EMA's first ever rock icon award. 9:00 PM ET on MTV
