ABC Plunges into Live Musical Broadcasts with The Little Mermaid Live!

Live musical broadcasts have been all the rage since NBC's Carrie Underwood-fronted The Sound of Music in 2013, which was followed by The Wiz, Hairspray, and Jesus Christ Superstar, along with Fox's takes on Grease and Rent. Now ABC is getting into the game with an all-star production timed to coincide with the 30th anniversary of the animated classic The Little Mermaid.

LIVE EVENT: The Wonderful World of Disney presents The Little Mermaid Live! Directed by frequent Peter Gabriel collaborator Hamish Hamilton, and featuring the music of Alan Menken and the late Howard Ashman, ABC's first live musical broadcast is an animated/live action hybrid starring Auliʻi Cravalho (the voice of Moana) as Ariel, The Good Wife's Graham Phillips as Eric, Queen Latifah as Ursula, Shaggy as Sebastian, and John Stamos as Chef Louis. 8:00 PM ET on ABC

SEASON PREMIERE: Netflix brings the second season of the British black comedy The End of the F***ing World stateside. Based on the graphic novel by Jonathan Entwistle, the series follows a disturbed young man as he embarks on an adventure with a misguided girl from his school. Watch the preview. SEASON FINALE: How Mayans M.C. will deal with last week's shocking death in tonight's season finale remains to be seen, but we do know the show will go on, now that FX has officially renewed the series for Season 3 (without creator Kurt Sutter). 10:00 PM ET on FX

STANDUP SPECIAL: Seth Meyers takes his act to Netflix for his first off-network comedy special Seth Meyers: Lobby Baby, complete with an option to skip the political jokes. Streaming on Netflix

NEW EPISODE: Rebecca (Mandy Moore) and Jack (Milo Ventimiglia) have Randall's teacher to the house for a meal on This Is Us. Meanwhile, Beth (Susan Kelechi Watson) and Randall (Sterling K. Brown) come to realize Deja (Lyric Ross) is testing their boundaries. 9:00 PM ET on NBC
