72 years since its original release, Frank Capra's It's a Wonderful Life continues to enthrall audiences young and old. The movie gets the first of two network airings this holiday season tonight on NBC (the second of course being on Christmas Eve). Here's what's new and noteworthy on TV this Saturday:
HOLIDAY MOVIE: It's not the holidays without It's a Wonderful Life. James Stewart, Donna Reed, Lionel Barrymore, Thomas Mitchel, and Henry Travers star in the timeless classic about a struggling family man who learns what the world would be like if he had never been born. 8:00 PM ET on NBC
CABLE PREMIERE: HBO's big Saturday night movie this week is Shazam. The film follows orphan Billy Batson (Asher Angel) who, with the utterance of a single word, becomes the superhero Shazam (Zachary Levi) Watch the trailer. 8:00 PM ET on HBO
HOLIDAY SPECIAL: CBS airs the first two Robbie the Reindeer holiday specials, 1999's Robbie the Reindeer: Hooves of Fire and 2002's Robbie the Reindeer: Legend of the Lost Tribe. Ther stop-motion fun kicks off at 8:00 PM ET on CBS
HOLIDAY SPECIAL: Ed Asner voices a certain merry old elf in The Story of Santa Claus, which tells the origin story of Saint Nick and his annual voyage around the world. Betty White co-stars. 9:00 PM ET on CBS
