As Joe Reid writes today, standup comedy specials have been a hallmark of the Peak TV era, with most every streamer (but especially Netflix) getting into the act. Today broadcast TV joins the party, as The CW launches a seven-week series of standup specials, starting with the network TV debut of Jim Gaffigan's 2018 VOD special, Noble Ape. Also tonight: Gayle King looks at our collective fury over George Floyd's murder, Lifetime honors women working the frontlines of the COVID-19 pandemic, and World of Dance keeps its competitors on their toes.
