    Leave it to our favorite fictional musical variety series to air a Black History Month special three and a half months late. (Or is it eight and half months early?) Michael Ealy and John Legend join the Sherman's Showcase crew for a special Black History Month Spectacular. Also today: ABC News takes a more serious look at black history with an hour-long Juneteenth special, The Politician returns for Season 2 and Netflix bows what may be TV's most absurd game show yet. Here's what new and noteworthy on TV this Friday:

    SPECIAL PRESENTATION: Black History Month may be in February, but that's not stopping Bashir Salahuddin and Diallo Riddle from commemorating it in Sherman’s Showcase: The Black History Month Spectacular, a special edition of their fictional musical variety series.     SPECIAL PRESENTATION: Amid growing calls to make Juneteenth a national holiday, ABC News presents Juneteenth: A Celebration of Overcoming. The hour-long special is set to look at the day's legacy and symbolism, especially in the wake of nationwide protests following the death of George Floyd in Minneapolis.     SEASON PREMIERE: Picking up where Season 1 left off, Ryan Murphy's The Politician is back (and so is most of its star-studded cast), as Payton Hobert (Ben Platt) sets his sights on the New York state senate. Watch the trailer. Streaming on Netflix

    SERIES PREMIERE: The latest in a burgeoning subgenre of low-stakes high comedy game shows, Floor Is Lava throws teams into rooms where they cannot touch the floor, but must instead traverse the space by swinging from chandeliers and jumping from chair to chair. Only, there's a twist: in this game, the floor really does appear to be lava. Read our review. Streaming on Netflix

    DOCUMENTARY PREMIERE: Just in time for Father's Day. Bryce Dallas Howard's Dads turns the cameras on some of the world's most famous fathers — including her own, Ron Howard — who discuss how the experience of raising kids changed their lives in unexpected ways.     ORIGINAL MOVIE: Sofia Carson (Descendants) stars in the original family comedy Feel the Beat, in which she plays April, a self-centered wannabe Broadway dancer who flames out and returns home to coach a group of misfits as they prepare for their own shot at the big time.     NEW EPISODES: The Netflix docuseries Babies continues its examination the first year of life, exploring the ways in which natural instincts and the nurturing influences of family come together to help tiny humans discover their place in the world. Watch the trailer. Streaming on Netflix

    DOCUMENTARY PREMIERE: Director Sam Feder's film Disclosure examines the experiences of transgender people in Hollywood, and the way their lives are depicted in film and television. Laverne Cox (Orange is the New Black), Lilly Wachowski (The Matrix), Yance Ford (Strong Island), MJ Rodriguez (Pose), Jamie Clayton (Sense8), and Chaz Bono (American Horror Story) are interviewed.
