Las Vegas is no island, but the desert oasis is serving as such on the US version of Love Island this season, with the show relocating from last year's tropical set in Fiji to a new COVID-friendly home on the roof of a Las Vegas hotel. As Primetimer's Kevin O'Keeffe writes, that's just one of a number of changes to the series, which kicks off its second season tonight with a special two-hour episode. Also tonight: The week-long Republican National Convention begins, I May Destroy You wraps its first (and likely only) season, and Reno 911! is back with the first of thirteen new episodes. Here's what's new and noteworthy on TV this Monday:
SEASON PREMIERE: Moving from Fiji to a rooftop quarantine bubble in Las Vegas, Love Island introduces its starting group of eleven singles. If they can't connect with someone quickly, they'll soon find themselves consciously uncoupled. Two-hour premiere. Watch a preview. 8:00 PM ET on CBS
SEASON FINALE: Our pick for the show of the summer airs its season finale tonight, as Arabella's memories come surging back on I May Destroy You. We've heard this before, but at present there don't appear to be plans for a second season. 9:00 PM ET on HBO
LIVE COVERAGE: Each night will have a different theme this week at the Republican National Convention. Tonight's theme is "Land of Heroes," as President Trump and Vice President Pence are set to be formally nominated by party delegates in Charlotte, North Carolina. Speakers tonight are set to include former ambassador to the United Nations Nikki Haley and Donald Trump, Jr.. Coverage begins at 9:00 PM ET/6:00 PT on cable news and PBS, and at 10:00 PM ET/7:00 PM PT on ABC, CBS and NBC
SEASON FINALE: The CNBC series American Greed: Biggest Cons dives into the financial misdeeds of Eric Conn, who oversaw the biggest social security fraud is United States history. 10:00 PM ET on CNBC
SEASON PREMIERE: Strap in for thirteen new episodes of Reno 911! as the show returns for Part 2 of it seventh season. Watch the trailer. Streaming on Quibi
NEW EPISODE: The queens' creative marketing skills are put to the test tonight on Canada's Drag Race as they write and produce commercials for fictional drag queen law firms. Comedian Tom Green is this week's guest judge. 9:00 PM ET on Logo
SERIES PREMIERE: Comedians are used to tearing people down for laughs, but what if they were challenged to do the opposite? That's the concept behind Nice One, Quibi's new "game of competitive kindness," hosted by comic Ron Funches. Comedians appearing in the first season include Riki Lindhome, Pete Holmes, Moshe Kasher, and Fortune Feimster. Watch the trailer. Streaming on Quibi
