Katherine Ryan Mines Motherhood For Laughs in Netflix's The Duchess

Canadian comic Katherine Ryan has made a name for herself in her adopted home of England with her acerbic brand of comedy. Dropping today, her new six-episode series The Duchess translates her raunchy standup into half-hour britcom form, making for a decidedly off-kilter addition to Netflix's growing stable of mommy comedies. Also today: History Channel remembers 9/11, Loud House kicks off its fifth season, and Room 104 welcomes some familiar faces. Here's what's new and noteworthy on TV this Friday:

SERIES PREMIERE: With two Netflix standup specials under her belt, Katherine Ryan returns to headline her own comedy series, The Duchess. The new six-part series stars Ryan as an unapologetic single mom. Read our review. Streaming on Netflix
