Thursday night, Jimmy Kimmel escalated his feud with Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene in a scathing monologue mocking Greene for reporting him to Capitol Police over a joke made earlier this week. Kimmel opened the show by addressing the feud, which has moved from Jimmy Kimmel Live! to Twitter and back over the past few days, and he wasted no time pointing out the hypocrisy of "Klan Mom," his nickname for Greene.
On Tuesday, Kimmel's monologue included a bit about Greene calling three Republicans "pro-pedophile" because they said they would vote to confirm Supreme Court nominee Ketanji Brown Jackson. "Wow, where is Will Smith when you really need him, huh?" joked Kimmel. The following day, Greene shared a video of the clip, calling it a "threat of violence" and later, "a dog whistle to the violent left to assault me or worse."
"She called the police and reported this," Kimmel said last night, after recapping the events of the past few days. "Not only did she call the police; she called the same police she voted against giving a Congressional Gold Medal to for defending our Capitol against the insurrection she helped incite on January 6."
While Kimmel said he doesn't "condone death or any kind of threats against anyone," he "find[s] it very rich" that someone who proudly held a sniper rifle in a campaign ad "is suddenly whining about fantasies of violence." Added the ABC host, "This is someone who endorsed fringe conspiracy theories and repeatedly indicated support for executing prominent Democratic politicians. Now she's dialing 911 because she got made fun of."
"She's a snowflake and a sociopath at the same time," he continued. "A snowciopath."
Kimmel concluded by fighting fire with fire. "If she's gonna report me to the police — if that's how she wants to play it — I'll report you right back! And I won't go to the police. I'll go to the Justice League, okay?" he said, as Guillermo handed him a pen and paper to pen a letter to Batman. "I'm writing about a woman who might be a supervillain. Like the Riddler, she believes the world is full of coded messages. Like the Joker, she thinks she is funny. And like the Penguin, she is five-foot-three. Please check her out."
Jimmy Kimmel Live! airs weeknights at 11:35 PM ET on ABC.
