The BBC commissioned an independent investigation into Bashir's 1995 Panorama interview. Findings of that official inquiry are expected to be released on Thursday confirming that Bashir used forged bank documents to secure access to the princess, according to The Telegraph. The forged statements allegedly showed that two senior courtiers were being paid by security services for information on Diana. Charles Spencer, Diana's brother, introduced Bashir to his sister because of those statements. Spencer called for an investigation into the matter last year. The independent investigation is separate from one that Panorama is conducting with plans to air as a special. Bashir recently quit BBC based for health reasons.
