E! confirms that Seacrest will still be Live from the Red Carpet on Sunday, days after his former E! stylist went public with sexual harassment and abuse allegations against him. Variety reports that so far ABC and E! are sticking by Seacrest. But as Variety points out, "Seacrest’s presence on the red carpet in the wake of detailed harassment and abuse allegations has the potential to create an embarrassing situation for E! and the host."
Meanwhile, an E! spokesperson told People this morning that the cable network stands by its investigation: “E!’s investigation was extremely comprehensive and thorough. Over the course of a two month process, our outside counsel interviewed more than two dozen people regarding the allegations, including multiple separate meetings with the claimant and all firsthand witnesses that she provided. The investigator is an attorney with nearly 20 years experience and is highly regarded professionally. Any claims that question the legitimacy of this investigation are completely baseless.”
