Five years after CBS canceled The Crazy Ones, the former Buffy the Vampire Slayer star is returning to TV to star in a limited-series thriller based on former BBC journalist Alice Feeney's international bestselling debut novel Sometimes I Lie from Ellen's production company. As Deadlines points out, this will be a rare TV series starring Gellar. Since Buffy ended in 2003, she has only starred in two series: The CW's Ringer from 2011-12 and The Crazy Ones with Robin Williams from 2013-14. According to Deadline, Gellar will play Amber Reynolds, "a woman who wakes up in a hospital, unable to move, speak, or open her eyes. She can hear everyone around her, but they don’t know she can. Amber doesn’t remember what happened, but she has a suspicion her husband had something to do with it. The timeline alternates between her paralyzed present, the week before her accident, and a series of childhood diaries from twenty years ago." Sometimes I Lie, from Warner Bros. TV, doesn't yet have a network home.
