Both Variety and The Washington Post are reporting that former NBC News correspondent Linda Vester has accused the legendary NBC News anchor of sexual harassment in the 1990s, when Vester was 28. In a story accompanied by video of Vester, Variety reports: "in a series of interviews with Variety conducted over several months, Vester alleged that Brokaw physically tried to force her to kiss him on two separate occasions, groped her in a NBC conference room and showed up at her hotel room uninvited. Two friends who Vester told at the time corroborated her story with Variety, and she shared her journal entries from the time period. Meanwhile, The Washington Post reports that "another woman, who spoke on the condition of anonymity, also has told The Post that Brokaw acted inappropriately toward her in the ’90s, when she was a young production assistant and he was an anchor." Brokaw is denying both alleged incidents. In a statement, Brokaw told Variety: “I met with Linda Vester on two occasions, both at her request, 23 years ago because she wanted advice with respect to her career at NBC. The meetings were brief, cordial and appropriate, and despite Linda’s allegations, I made no romantic overtures towards her at that time or any other.”
