Netflix's Love is Blind has forged four successful marriages over its two-season run, but on Wednesday that number decreased to three after Season 2 contestants Iyanna McNeely and Jarrette Jones announced their split.
The pair, who connected in the dating reality show's infamous pods, posted a joint statement on Instagram saying they are divorcing.
"After much thought, we're saddened to share that we have separated and will begin the process of divorcing," the statement read. "While we have love for each other, our lives are going in different directions, and that's okay."
"Coming to this decision was far from easy and we will always wish each other the absolute best," it continued.
The couple then asked for "some space" while they "close this chapter" of their lives. They also thanked their family, friends, their Love is Blind family, and Netflix for the "unforgettable opportunity and support" as well as the "overwhelming love and joy."
The statement concluded, "This experience has taught us so much about ourselves, vulnerability and love. We don't regret a single thing!"
Although McNeely and Jones ultimately married after meeting one another in the pods, their journey on the show was not without its struggles. Jones also connected with contestant Mallory Zapata, and nearly proposed to her before Zapata revealed she had chosen Salvador "Sal" Perez.
After choosing to move forward with proposing to McNeely instead, Jones had a conversation with Zapata about their connection. In one uncomfortable moment, Jones told Zapata he knew the engagement ring Perez gave her was not the style she wanted and asserted if given the chance he would have picked something else.
In a March interview with Us Weekly, McNeely said it was "really awkward" watching the scenes with her husband and Zapata. Jones echoed his wife, saying it was "definitely hard" to watch.
The three remaining married couples from the show are Lauren Speed-Hamilton and Cameron Hamilton from Season 1, Amber Pike and Matthew Barnett of Season 1, and Danielle Ruhl and Nick Thompson from Season 2.
Love is Blind Seasons 1 and 2 are currently streaming on Netflix. A third season is set to premiere later this year.
