The Time George Segal Played an Anti-War Banjo Song with the Smothers Brothers

George Segal has passed away at the age of 87.

While he had a distinguished film career and was well-known from his TV work on Just Shoot Me and The Goldbergs, it's less widely known that he was an accomplished banjo player. In this clip from The Smothers Brothers Comedy Hour in 1967, Segal joins Tom and Dick Smothers for an original tune called "The Draft Dodger Rag," keeping with the Smothers' anti-war sentiments during the Vietnam conflict that would eventually get them canceled while earning them status as two of the most important countercultural voices of a generation.
