Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez is now something of a rock star after becoming the youngest woman ever in the United States Congress, but in this True Colors preview, she explains how she still lives in the Bronx, and how that keeps her grounded.
"Two or three years ago, if I was on the subway, nobody cared," she says. "That type of environment has changed, but being home, that hasn't changed. Our family keeps everybody humble. You always get roasted. You will always be made fun of. People will always bring up embarrassing family stories. That's never been a concern. Nice and grounded."
True Colors, which profiles successful Hispanics in the United States, is now streaming on Peacock.
Andy Hunsaker has a head full of sitcom gags and nerd-genre lore, and can be followed @AndyHunsaker if you're into that sort of thing.
